The destination continues to strengthen its position as a top choice, standing out for its safety, organization, and a comprehensive tourism offer that combines nature, gastronomy, and unique experiences.
Puerto Morelos is expected to reach hotel occupancy levels above 90% during the upcoming Easter holiday period, driven by strong tourism demand and growing confidence among both domestic and international visitors, according to Mayor Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz.

The municipal leader highlighted that, based on industry data, recent weekends have already recorded occupancy rates between 85% and 90%, with peaks of up to 95% in some accommodations. For the holiday season, reservations have surpassed 80%, not including last-minute bookings, which traditionally boost visitor numbers, especially among domestic travelers.
She also emphasized that the destination has a solid tourism infrastructure, including 8,450 hotel rooms and 653 vacation rental units, strengthening its capacity to welcome a larger number of visitors under optimal conditions.
Blanca Merari stated that these results reflect coordinated efforts between all levels of government, the tourism sector, and service providers, focused on ensuring safety, organization, and quality experiences for visitors.
“Puerto Morelos is ready to welcome visitors this Easter as a safe, organized, and hospitable destination that highlights its natural beauty and the warmth of its people. We continue working to make every experience memorable while generating well-being and development for our community,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of Sustainable Tourism, Raúl Guadarrama García, noted that the municipality continues to strengthen its position as one of the most attractive destinations in the Mexican Caribbean, thanks to its diverse range of experiences.
“Expectations are very positive. Puerto Morelos offers a unique balance between nature, adventure, and culture. The Cenote Route allows visitors to experience the richness of the Mayan jungle, while our beaches and reef provide unmatched opportunities for those seeking a connection with the sea,” he explained.
Among its main attractions is the Cenote Route, a natural corridor offering cenotes, zip lines, and outdoor activities immersed in nature. Additionally, its proximity to the Mesoamerican Reef System makes the destination a top spot for snorkeling and diving, thanks to its extraordinary biodiversity.
Finally, Guadarrama García emphasized that Puerto Morelos continues to move forward as a competitive, sustainable, and safe destination, capable of offering authentic experiences for all types of travelers.
