Time moves forward, and with it, technology continues to integrate into various processes to streamline procedures. And yes, as suspected, changes have arrived at the Tax Administration Service (SAT), which will implement a new digital tool called the “Tax Status ID”:
It will simplify access, retrieval, and consultation of information needed to issue invoices and carry out other procedures.
In 2025, the traditional Tax Status Certificate will be eliminated and replaced with a new document. This change responds to the need to adapt to a new digital era. The new Tax Status ID will be simpler and offer greater privacy:
- Name or business name
- Tax ID (RFC)
- Tax regime
- Tax address
- Postal code
- Authorized use of the CFDI (Digital Tax Receipt via Internet)
- Some will also include a QR code for validation
It’s important to stay informed through official channels to keep up with updates related to this major technological shift — one that many people will have to adapt to, whether they want to or not.
