As part of our commitment to talent development, MERA partnered with our supplier Kerry to deliver the Basic Barista course to team members, enhancing their skills in the professional preparation of coffee beverages.

To date, six courses have been held in Cancún and two in Mérida, training a total of 105 team members in the Cashier/Barista role. In the coming days, this workshop will reach two additional locations: Bajío and Guadalajara.

Throughout the training, participants gained essential knowledge, including:

  • Understanding the coffee harvesting process and types of coffee
  • Proper measurements for various preparations
  • Techniques for correctly steaming milk
  • Best hygiene practices in beverage preparation
  • New recipes using Da Vinci Gourmet syrups and powders

In addition to the technical content, participants actively engaged by answering questions and sharing what they learned. As a reward, they received promotional items such as tumblers, caps, aprons, and tote bags. At the end of the session, they received a certificate of completion for successfully finishing the two-hour training.

This course marks the first phase of the program. In the second stage, to be launched in the second half of the year, participants will advance their skills with Latte Art techniques and specialized espresso preparation.

At MERA, we continue to foster a culture of continuous learning, committed to the professional development and growth of everyone who is part of our operation.
