Mara Lezama inaugurated a highly anticipated infrastructure project in the southern region. The governor delivered a modern dome at the “Benito Juárez” primary school in Ucum. Currently, the campus belongs to the Othón P. Blanco municipality. This facility directly answers a community demand with 44 years of historic delay.

Social justice and dignified facilities in Othón P. Blanco

The construction led by SEOP required an investment exceeding 3.3 million pesos. These funds allowed the creation of a 510-square-meter metallic structure. Additionally, the project included full sports court rehabilitation and modern LED lighting. For this reason, the 147 students can perform daily activities protected from extreme weather conditions.

The state leader affirmed that this action belongs to a larger educational initiative. The government’s main goal remains to build 1,109 domes in public schools across Quintana Roo. Likewise, these actions prioritize the transparent usage of public funds in rural communities. Therefore, the state advances firmly towards reducing historical social gaps.

A strong call for student well-being

During the opening ceremony, Mara Lezama was accompanied by educational and community authorities. The governor used the meeting to speak with the children about social prevention. She urged them to stay safe from various internet and social media hazards. She also asked them to avoid addictions and self-destructive behavior to ensure a full life.

Finally, sixth-grade student Litzy Jimena Blanco formally expressed gratitude for the new facility. The teaching staff reaffirmed their deep commitment to the academic growth of new generations. The state government will maintain technical monitoring in the area to build safe and healthy educational environments.
