At MERA, quality and excellence in food and beverage service at airports are our top priorities. Therefore, on February 27th, we held a specialized training session with an expert barista from Lavazza, focused on perfecting coffee extraction and optimizing the quality of every espresso we serve.
Additionally, this is the first time Lavazza has offered this training in Spanish, and MERA is the first company to receive it in our language, consolidating our commitment to training and continuous improvement.
Perfecting Coffee Preparation
The main objective of these sessions was to improve the technique of our baristas, ensuring that each cup of coffee meets the highest standards. During the training, we worked on:
- Advanced extraction techniques to maximize flavor and aroma.
- Adjusting grinders and calibrating beans to achieve the ideal grind.
- Quality control methods to ensure a perfect espresso.
A team of 45 people, including baristas, supervisors, and managers, was carefully selected. Their role is key, as they will not only apply what they learned but also share this knowledge with the rest of the team. The training took place in five sessions with small groups of around eight participants, allowing for a more personalized and effective learning experience.
