Mexican cattle will enter the United States commercial market once again. The resumption of agricultural trade will officially start on August 24. Currently, the measure ends a suspension period of over one year. This border restriction originally arose due to the screwworm pest.

President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed the progress in the binational agenda. The leader stated that the agreement reflects coordinated work between authorities. Likewise, local ranchers strengthened sanitary measures across livestock farms. For this reason, both countries guarantee safety in cattle exports.
On the other hand, livestock producers celebrated the border reopening. The national cattle sector suffered major economic losses during the contingency. However, continuous inspections allowed effective eradication of the sanitary risk. Therefore, commercial flow will gradually recover its regular pace.

This decision directly strengthens the economy of rural communities. Livestock exports represent a key source of income for the country. Similarly, authorities will maintain strict sanitary checkpoints at borders.
